We offer bespoke training in the following areas:
An introduction to Natural Play and the development of all areas of learning outdoors with a nature based curriculum.
Naturally Numerical offers a plethora of ideas for developing mathematical skills, vocabulary and problem solving using natural materials.
Literacy Outdoors explores the many opportunities for developing communication skills, phonological awareness, reading and writing during outdoor play and exploration.
Explore how Sustained shared thinking and wellbeing and engagement is afforded when children spend long periods of time in a stimulating outdoor environment.
Learn how schematic thinking is key to understanding children's interests, behaviour and learning. Discover how loose parts and natural resources can be creatively used indoors and outdoors to promote children's independent learning.
Responding in the moment takes a closer look at the role of the adult as play partner and ways to engage children in planning and documenting their learning through engagement in collaborative art and sustained shared thinking.

Outdoor Audit and Consultation:
Includes a day visit to your setting by Ann to audit the existing outdoor practice with the Foundation Stage Team in order to unlock the learning potential of the outdoor environment. Ann will produce a detailed and in depth written report including ideas, photographs and recommendations for the development of outstanding outdoor provision. A separate self-evaluation document is also produced to support short and long term development planning. Other support materials will help staff develop awareness of of why being outdoors is so beneficial to children's wellbeing and development and help them to recognise and articulate the learning that happens when children have the opportunities to learn outdoors. Other resources in this package include continuous provision planning and a long term plan to follow the seasonal opportunities that the natural world offers.

The training helped us to identify what we are doing well, but also to think about what we can do better.
